Lama Chopa is a Tibetan term that means Guru Puja and is based on the famous text complied by first Panchen Lama Losang Chokyi Gyaltsen. Lama Chopa begins with Guru Puja and then leads the practitioner into the path of Lam Rim and the two stages of Tantra. Lama Chopa is more than just Guru Yoga practice, and it’s essence is clear light and bliss. As such, the study and practice of Lama Chopa is a perfect and complete enlightened path of Buddha.

Guru Yoga Zuru Ling Nov 2006

It has been written by the great masters that Guru Yoga is the very life and heart of the practice and by fervently praying with uncontrived devotion, direct blessings of the wisdom-mind of the Guru will be transmitted to oneself, removing obstacles and empowering the practitioner with a unique realization.

In this three part series recorded at Zuru Ling, Vancouver in November 2006, Rinpoche discusses the importance of a firm foundation in Guru Yoga practice and gives commentary to important sections of the Guru Puja text. Rinpoche also discusses the founder of the Gelug tradition, Lama Je Tsong Khapa and the Gelug merit field.
